Role Description

The Senior Analyst – Evaluations and Intelligence will be responsible for providing evaluations and assessments of prospective investors and investment opportunities, with a strong focus on conducting market research, studies and intelligence gathering to support informed decision-making. This role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who can synthesise data from multiple sources, offer insights into market trends and evaluate the viability of investment projects. Strong written communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation and Assessment:

  • Conduct evaluations and financial assessments of prospective investments.
  • Perform due diligence on prospective investments by reviewing publicly available information, financial statements, business plans, and conducting risk assessments.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment reports and recommendations for senior management and board members.

Market Research and Study:

  • Market research to identify emerging investment opportunities in various sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure and digital technology.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and economic conditions to support strategic investment decisions.
  • Develop research papers, white papers and case studies on key market developments and investment trends relevant to the organisation.
  • Maintain a database of market information and investment research to support the ongoing needs of the investment team and stakeholders.

Intelligence Gathering:

  • Monitor and analyse macroeconomic indicators, policy changes, and geopolitical developments that could impact the investment landscape.
  • Build relationships with industry experts, think tanks and research firms to stay updated on sector-specific intelligence.
  • Prepare intelligence briefs and presentations for senior management and Board Members on market outlooks and potential investment opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACCA) are preferred.
  • Preferably 5-7 years of relevant experience in investment analysis, market research, or intelligence gathering, ideally within an investment firm, consultancy or financial institution.
  • Proficient in financial analysis tools and software, including Excel and market research platforms.
  • Strong understanding of the investment landscape, particularly in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or technology sectors.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and working in fast-paced environments.
